EATING + HAVING FUN!!!!!
How to Eat Out, Have Fun, and Lose Weight On Vacation
I tend to eat when I'm bored—not good when you're stuck in an airport or car, or even lounging by the pool. So I always carry a book or some Sudoku to keep myself occupied. And then when I reallyamhungry, I'll grab a bite from the closest grocery store or snack shop. My advice: Walk straight to the refrigerated section, where you'll find the perishable, usually healthier options, like hummus with pretzels. Grab some water, too—it'll help keep you full.
I love an umbrella drink as much as the next person, but lying on the beach isn't the only way to enjoy yourself. My family has hiked in Sedona, AZ, and walked the boardwalk in Santa Barbara, CA, forhoursduring an art festival. We're going rafting this summer! The point is, you can find something active to do anywhere. So do your research (look online for family-friendly ideas in your destination), or ask someone at a hotel or local restaurant for some recs.
No one wants to spend time in the hotel gym, so I keep up my routine by jogging. It's a fun way to see a new place. Once when we were in Hawaii, I ran by a few places we later ate at and a beach where local surfers go to hang. Butanyworkout can feel like a treat. After all, when else do you have this kind of time? Do yoga at sunset, or go for an early walk—even if it's simply to grab coffee at the strip mall you passed on the way to your B&B.
